A Key Focus
At Garnteg we believe that all children should have the entitlement to access technologies in a safe way.
We develop pupil's ICT and digital competency skills by fully integrating the Digital Competency Framework into our Climb to Sparkle curriculum.
Online safety is a key focus for us and lessons are planned for throughout the year. Pupils are encouraged to use IT equipment, including the internet, in a safe and responsible way both in and outside of school. Pupils are guided to internet sites that are suitable for their use and staff are vigilant in monitoring the content of websites that our children visit.
As a school we will try to ensure that learners have good access to digital technologies to enhance their learning and will, in return, expect pupils to agree to be responsible users of these technologies. All pupils, in Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2, will be asked to sign an acceptable use agreement, along with parents/carers, so that they are aware of these expectations.
You can find copies of our Acceptable Use Agreements here.
In the box below you will find a few useful links with a range of information regarding online safety and tips for ensuring your children are safe online.
